MA Illustration graduates share industry insights at virtual event

Tue 23 Mar 2021

Falmouth Flexible MA Illustration students gathered together for an exciting virtual event. Academics, graduates and guest speakers gave insights and tips into how to make their mark in the world of illustration.

Graduate and friend of the course Freya Moses hosted a series of workshops to introduce students to Riso printing, a process where you build a print layer by layer.

In the first workshop, students gathered up household items and came together to use mark making techniques on black ink to produce different textures. In workshop two, students used their dry prints to collage a self-portrait. Finally, in workshop three, Freya shared a video on how the Riso printer works and did some live printing.

Academics presented on topics including Photoshop, pitching projects and finding your voice as an artist. Olivia Ahmed, Artistic Director of House of Illustration in London, gave the keynote speech on 'Illustration Stories' followed by a Q&A session.

Recent MA Illustration graduates also joined a session to discuss their final major projects and how they've been making the most of their degree since graduating from the course.

It was a seriously creative few days!
