Julia is the Global Media Planning Leader and is co-supervising students’ final Major Projects.
At the same time, Julia is carrying out post-doctoral research on movie trailers as a form of advertising. She is particularly interested on how advertising helps consumers form perceptions about products and on the effect that those perceptions have on electronic word-of-mouth and on short-term revenue.
After finishing her undergraduate degree in Drama with English, she went on to obtain her MSc in Management with Marketing, which helped her secure a job in the entertainment production industry. Still spending her evenings on research projects with colleagues from the University of Bath, she decided to return once more to the academia, and obtained her PhD in 2019.
Strongly believing in the collaboration between research and practice she was in the Organising Committee of the PhD to Consulting Conference 2018, an annual event targeted at research postgraduate students who wish to become consultants. When she’s not watching trailers or working on the course, she’s taking long walks with her Jack Russell or traveling around the Greek islands.
