A Greener Festival Assessor Training

A Greener Festival Assessor Training Overview

This intensive two week course is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge of the environmental operations at events. It will also enable you to undertake and carry out environmental assessments for a wide range of different indoor and outdoor events on behalf of A Greener Festival.

For over 10 years A Greener Festival has been leading the way in assessing festivals and events around the world, offering advice to event organisers on how they can make their events more environmentally friendly. You will benefit from a unique, global perspective on good practice and the development of green initiatives gathered from around the world by A Greener Festival over the last decade.

Events, festivals and venues look to A Greener Festival to provide trained Assessors that are able to assess their activities. Based on the outcomes of the assessment, they receive an internationally recognised award. On completion of this course you will be able to undertake audits on behalf of A Greener Festival under the supervision of a Senior Assessor (subject to event location and availability). This certification lasts for a period of 3 years after which you will need to renew your training. Full details of the terms and condition of being an AGF Assessor can be found later on this page.

Terms & Conditions for Assessors

All Environmental Assessors for A Greener Festival (AGF) need to complete a formal training programme at least once every three years so they can fully participate in evaluating festivals that take part in the A Greener Festival Award scheme and The Greener Event Award scheme.

The opportunity to complete an assessment is dependent upon the quantity and location of events applying for the Awards scheme in any twelve (12) month period. These numbers can vary and every attempt is made to match a festival or event with a suitable Assessor. This is often decided by the location of the event and that of the Assessor in order to minimise travel emissions and costs.

The training is valid for the A Greener Festival Awards Scheme for 3 years from the date you complete this course. Whilst you are welcome to take the training again before this time, you do not have to. However, after 3 years you will need to renew your training with A Greener Festival if you wish to continue as an Assessor.
