Photography student shortlisted for science photographer of the year

Tue 1 Dec 2020

The shortlist for the Royal Photographic Society’s science photographer of the year competition has been announced! Shortlisted photography will be on display at the Science Museum in London from 7 October until 5 January.

The winners will be announced on 7 October.

On the shortlist this year is Yasmin Crawford, who is studying for an online MA Photography with Falmouth Flexible. Her final major project focused on examining the research behind myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).

Yasmin has a background in the life sciences and healthcare, but her career in this area was curtailed when she was diagnosed with ME in 2013. As part of her path to recovery, she decided to do an online masters degree with Falmouth University.

Her MA work has explored many aspects of ME by using photography and the visual arts to express the hidden impacts of the condition.

Congratulations Yasmin on being shortlisted, and good luck for 7 October!
